My Brother Is Addicted To Video Games?
He’s only 5 years old, he’s going on 6 and he’s on the x-box for at least 2-3 hours or more and if he’s not on the x-box he’s on the computer for 2-3 hours or more as well. Until my parents let him on the computer, he used to be on the x-box playing video games all day every day and that kind of worried me. Sometimes i’ll play two players with him and he’s hard to beat. Is this a bad thing?
Not at all. As long as this does not start to interfere with other things in his life or others. You should tell him how you feel if it is affecting others like yourself. He is a young-in, so it is pretty normal for him to be addicted to video games in our present society/ culture. Maybe I am just saying this because I myself am addicted to xbox but hey, take it or leave it. At his age, what else would he need to be doing that should take up his time? Now if it interferes with his socialization or getting other tasks done that are important, then it might be time to have a talk and possibly set some guidelines and/or restrictions.
-And they say it builds hand-eye coordination among other things like decision-making skills so that’s a plus. : ) Good luck,
Alec.
* Wow, just read some of all the other answers–> or what I call hate mail by what I saw. He is learning new skills. For example, I’m sure he is pretty good with operating the computer which is definetly what children need to learn in this day and age at a young age to be ahead of the game. I saw some people say–Bad Parenting–But hell no, don’t be a douche and take it away from him completely…now that would be bad parenting.
**And by the way…for some others as well, all of his friends are probably on xbox as well…so going to their houses to play wouldn’t help either lol. I sware…if I don’t get the best answer lol. No pressure though lolz. ***It’s cool that your concerned for your bro too, kudos to you.
