Should i buy the nintendo WII or an Xbox 360?

I really want to get a new console video game system because the last thing i had was a gamecube and they don’t even sale games for those anymore. I really want to get somthing.
I am an only child, and rarely have friends over so i was thinking that the WII may be hard because alot of games are more fun with multiplayer but i still want it.
the other issue is that i really want guitar hero. although i did look it up and a new guitar hero game is coming out for the WII in june.
I have also heard that the Xbox 360 overheats and stuff which really isn’t a good thing.
so which one should i look into getting.
and please recomend some games that i could get if i get either one. and websites for information would be good too!

It depends on the type of stuff you like to play. There’s lots of fun, silly stuff on WII that can be single player. Link’s crossbow training is a lot of fun, as is Wario ware. There’s also a fun Sims game if you like that kind of thing, and the new Smash Brothers is coming out on WII within a couple months. If you’re more into role playing, really detailed graphics, hard core shooters, that type of thing, go for the 360. If you get a 360 with a falcon chip instead of the regular, they are significantly less likely to overheat and have the 3 red lights. For 360 I’d recommend Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, Halo 3 (this and Call of Duty you can interact with people online, and if people come over, it can go multiplayer) and there are some good looking games coming out on it.

The WII is an underpowered system. Sometimes you will get long loading times/screens because of this. Normally not too annoying, but if you’re playing something for awhile, or are trying to move quickly through stuff, it’s death. The 360 flacon chips are harder to find… only 1 of the plants that makes 360 uses them and even them its limited. Also the 360 is more expensive, both for the console and new games are usually about $60. If you get a normal one, and it breaks, Microsoft will fix it, but you’re out a system for a least a week usually.

Talk to some of the people at Gamestop, they’re usually pretty knowledgable. Also, if you want to know more about games, either the afore mentioned’s web site can help or things like Amazon.com will let you search for games by system, so you can see what has more things you’re interested in.
